Went out today with my two sons and Friend Justin and his daughter from Sportsmen's Unlimited in Waukon. We fished pool 9, but I have been hearing that the pools above and below are on fire (fish have been protected all year!!!)
Using 7'6" MLXF St. Croix Eyecons and Legend Tournament Walleye series, 8 lb Trilene XL and a Do-It 1/8 ounce Teardrop wire-keeper with a half a crawler dragging it down stream just a little faster than the current. Better off to leave it in the rod holder until it bends over!
Firetiger was the best color, followed by char lime/char yellow.
Please practice conservation - we kept just enough for a meal.
