Title: Scissors
Post by: ctom on 08/19/14 09:32 UTC
I don't tie enough anymore to warrant spending a lot of money on anything, but I do tie some Flu-Flu style jigs and some bucktails on occasion. And I have needed a new pair of scissors. My old pair was dynamite and lasted for twenty years with only a couple decent sharpenings needed. But this last weekend I found a pair to step up to the task and the old pair will get retired.

I found these in a fabric shop while Ma was looking some quilting stuff over. They fit my fingers pretty much ok, they are sharper than heck and the tips are just right for close cut-offs. The tips are finer than any others I have found that didn't cost $50. These cost $20. And I had a 40% coupon. That said, they also fit my budget.

I do a pile of the Flu-Flu's for dock fishing and these happened along at just the right time. They have a 5 year warranty too.

Get $2 cheapies at the flea market (Haven't seen them for a while gotta talk to the folks about getting more) for regular thread, the open ones have been being used for 3 years and still sharp, and I have a pair of DuraSharp for the heavy work.
