The 3" Skirted Chub Grub is now available.  Thank you to all who helped with this bait.

Jason,

Let me know when the big one is ready.  I'm running low on grubs!

Have you tried shooting the bait with a blending block?  Depending on how you position the blending block will it give you two different baits?  Across the mold gives a laminate and the block going the same way as the mold will give the body one color and the skirt a different color?

I received my mold today and Wow this bait will be a very, very good bait.

After a few problems, not getting the spline to fill completely. Eventually I figured out NOT to clamp the spline end...only the bait end...and then the baits started coming out perfect! Those of you that make tube baits...any other suggestions? Should I rub some worm oil on the spline?

After molding up 6 perfect baits, I took a few over to a local pond and wow does that bait look fantastic! I caught a couple small bass (12-14") so I know they will eat it!

We have a favorable weather forecast this weekend, so I'll be happy to give it lots of testing!!

Thanks for the review.  I will probably pick one of these up too over the winter.  I really think it will be a killer bed bait.  Add a float additive to get an ultra slow fall and BAM!

I used up all the baits I made Friday evening and Saturday am (darn Northern Pike seem to love these things!!!), lost a couple to snags....and cut some up to experiment with adding collars to my MadDads (I still want the MadDad Craw with skirt mold!).

So...I got up early Sunday to mold more up and I think I've finally got it down pretty good! I clamp the bait side (tight) and do not clamp the skirt side. I have also been putting some CCM worm oil on the skirt mold and that seems to help a bunch!

Managed over a dozen perfect baits...even fooled around with two color baits....leave the skirt on it's mold and then re-inject the bait in a different color...and boy o boy do they look good!

This has to be the most versatile bait there is...
1. Skirted Chub Grub or
 2. Cut off the skirt and it's a twin tail grub...or...
 3. Cut off twin tails and pull off the legs and it's a tube bait!
4. Use the skirt you cut off to make it a twin grub as a skirt for another bait.
5. Use the skirt legs for some kick butt ice fishing baits.
6. Use the tab and legs....for an even better ice fishing bait!

Got my "Honey Do's" done...so I'm going "bait testing" after lunch! 8)

Quick Update: They Work!!! A 3lber, a 4.5 lber (actually about a 4 lber stuffed full of a bunch of something!!) and a half dozen dinks.

Molding Update: Jason suggested that I was injecting the bait to "cool"(I was) ...and to inject at 350-360 or so....and it pays to know what you're doing!!!!!! Perfect bait 8 times in a row at 360.
