Title: Questions on new 2015 catalog
Post by: Muskygary on 12/17/14 18:55 UTC
On page 111 below the senko mold it list a "El Gusano Lami Plate" Item 95259. But this must be the Lam. plate for the senko? Below the El Gusano worms it list two Lam Plates by different Item numbers. Also in the Essential colors, I see three colors not listed in the X2colors:  Blue Smoke, Purple Smoke, Green Smoke. These must only be carried in the Essential Line? As you can tell I had a very slow day. ;D ;D

The El Gusano lists two different baits with two different bait lengths. Maybe two different mold lengths as well? Only one mold and length listed for the Senko so only one plate is needed.

" I see three colors not listed in the X2colors:  Blue Smoke, Purple Smoke, Green Smoke."....quite possibly because people purchasing the essential series colorants are not as well versed in mixing stronger colors like the X2 and these help them get some nice colors without having to guess how much of this and that to get whatever. The essential series stuff is very entry level stuff. I'm betting that those smoke colors that were available prior to the X2 had inches of dust on the bottles on the rack before do-It had that clearance to move that old stuff out. I'd also bet that any new colors like those would gather dust too.

Page 111 in every issue I have here at home (5), directly under The Gary Yamamoto Senko mold is shown number 95259 Gary Yamamoto Senko Lami Plate and under the two El Gusano molds are listed item numbers 95267 and 95269 the lami plates for the 4.5" and 6" respectively.  I wonder if yot got a bum issue or what?

Blue Smoke, Purple Smoke, and Green Smoke are only available in the Essential Series colorants.

Will the senko lami plate work w/ the essential series mold?

No, sorry.

Jerry, I was looking at the internet download catalog found at the bottom of the page for the store. page 111. Maybe it's only a typo on the internet.

That could be...  maybe it was something they caught just before print but after it had already gone up at the site.  I'll have to look into it tomorrow.  Thanks Gary.

It appears that a previous version of the catalog was uploaded on the site and as Jerry stated the correction was made before going to print.  We will get the correct file loaded tomorrow.

The info and item number are correct for the senko lami plate, it was an incorrect header.  Should say senko lami, not el gusano on page 111.

The new essential series colorants (smokes and pearls) are already color effects that many of you are already making.  These are an out of the bottle solution.  We also feel that the 1 ounce bottles will be more of a usable quantity.  Unless you are manufacturing, the lager x2 bottles could be a life time supply.  The lower price point will allow hobbyists to utilize more color options.  This series of colorants will explode in options in the future.
