Need a smaller size casting spoon (one to two inch long) to use for ice fishing.

The casting spoon bait from 1/4 to 1.0 oz.would fit the bill and is a excellent spoon. I have no idea how many fish I have caught on lures cast from this mold. The 1/4th is a small bait, but catches everything that eats shad or minnows.

How long is it?

I have had some decent luck with the swim jig. I fish it with the single hook sometimes. More often though, after pouring and painting it, I cut the hook end off then pull the hook shank out of the jig body. You then have the painted jig body minus the hook. I then thread my line through the body, add a bead then tie on a treble hook. The bead as a spacer to protect the knot from the jig body. It works good jigging , or under a tip up but %99 of the time I hang a shiner on it under a float.
It's a little off the wall but if you already have the mold or know somebody who does, it might be worth a try.

That sounds every bit as novel as catching walleyes on a catfish worm!

I really like this idea. May have to buy some raw ones to try out. Thanks for sharing this!

This rig works best for me under a float soaking a 3-4" shiner. I've caught a lot of eyes on this rig over the years. I have also had some good days/nights using this rig with wind tip ups.
I have never had an issue with line wear but I don't aggressively jig this rig either. Since it's basically a glorified bead bead where you have lead rubbing on your line, it's a good idea to check your line for wear every so often.
No problem Bucko. I hope it works for you.
