Hey guys I ordered some expiry from do it yesterday. I will be using it to epoxy over do it stick on eyes. The part number is 2271. Is this what I need for this? Also I hear guys talk about a epoxy called cs. That's not the same stuff I ordered is it? Thanks for all the help guys

If I read this right you ordered the 2 part epoxy in the small square bottles? The CS you mention is a water based clear coat that dries as hard as epoxy but is only a single component coating. The two are definitely different.
If you need to thin the 2 part epoxy, use a small amount of de-natured alcohol. We are talking in terms of a drop of alcohol here, maybe two, for the average mix of epoxy.

Yes I ordered the 2 part epoxy. Should I send it back, and get the cs. Who sells the cs?

I'd just use it to see how it works for you. You won't know if you don't try it. Every body is different. Some might hate the epoxy, some might love it. You're not them, you need to find out for yourself. Keep it. Use it. The CS is sold on the Do-It store site too.

Thanks for the help Tom. I did a search for cs epoxy on do it website. I come up with a part number of 2718. Is this the stuff? I will probably order some, and try both. If just putting epoxy on the eyes, the 1 oz should last quite awhile correct? Or should I order the 4 oz. Tia

That is one of the two they offer. I'd get this one in 1 ounce to see how you like it. If its good for you, yup-size the next time you order. They offer the same product,#2964, that has the uv enhancer in it. Try the original first. If uv is something you want to try, get the small bottle again until you know what it does and how it applies.

CS coatings also sells a one part clear vinyl overcoat that works well on eyes on jig heads. Easier to use than 2 part products; and very tough.

I agree with the CS Coatings (Do-it product). I've been using the coating with the UV additive. I figure if they can see it ....it's a plus...if they can't ...no harm done!
From what I've read...the UV additive makes a big difference in off color water.
From my experience the UV enhanced and the regular product both give me a really nice finish and help holding on the eyes (I try to get it into the edges of the eyes to help bind them to the jig).
You can get it from just about anyone. I normally buy from Barlows. It's also available at my local Fleet Farm store.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. I'm wondering if you can clean epoxy out of paint brushes? If so how? At 4.10 for 10 brushes from do it, is it even worth cleaning them? Do you guys clean them, or just throw them away when done? Tia

I buy my epoxy brushes on Ebay. Cost is $12 for 100 brushes shipped to my door in Alaska.I havent had one of them shed yet.
I bought some at a local craft store and they shed so I tried the ones from EBAY and I am very happy with them.
I clean mine with MEK. Especially if I am using a spendier brush for a special project such as epoxy coating large foiled saltwater jigs.
