Title: Body from Hawaii
Post by: ctom on 01/30/15 15:52 UTC
Carole and I have been enjoying life with our asses in the sand, feet in the water and sun in our eyes. The glass door has been open every night with light 76-78 degree breezes blowing in. We took in a whale tour this morning and has a cow and calf give us a show for a half hour. The Calf came within a hundred yards of the boat....incredible watching those huge animals that close. The. Weather has been great but yesterday we had humidity that was out of sight and air quality alerts were flying all over. Trade winds overnight took the gassy air out to sea and today is sunburn weather.....beach time this afternoon. Just wanted to stop by and say "howdy".

Glad to see you've escaped all the weather going on up North, Tom!  If you ever want to experience real humidity take a trip to central Alabama in July!

Just got back from Waikiki Beach. You got your wish Doug. Lol I wish I'd have been. Here while I was in my twenties. The twenty year old chickas here have no couch. You can't imagine the sights I have seen in just the last two hours. Time for heart meds now.lol

That's awesome ctom. I hope you have a ball!  Does remind me of the time I thought I was smart enough to lay on the beach with my wife and not get caught looking.  Put on my sun glasses and never moved my head. Smooth as glass and after a few hours my wife asked me if I needed some Vaseline.  I said for what.  She's said because you haven't stop smiling for two hours.

We just got back from dinner...seafood buffet. One Dollie on the beach was truly x rated. Even Carole gawked it. Unreal....back home it would be called indecent exposure. Not the boobs, it was the lower unit. Not the first time we have seen this here. Crazy. No fishing for me. Tomorrow we go to the rain forest. I,ll check in next week sometime.

Pair of Costa Del Mar glasses with those teal lenses are a great investment for scoping out chicks on the beach, I mean, for fishing ;)

We'll be on Kauai for a couple weeks in August/September.  I can't think of a better destination than Hawaii for pure relaxation.  We've been fortunate enough to be able to go somewhat frequently.  Once you get by trying to do all the touristy things you learn to relax...the whole secluded beach thing...drives through upland neighborhoods...tie jigs on the balcony...love on mama a bit.

Today was nice day and we spent it in Chinatown. I am still trying to figure out what kind of creature was served to me at lunch but it tasted good. Gonna get wild here starting later tonight with high wind warnings. Supposedly we could see winds to 90 mph. That should get surf up. We'll see how this blows up. Sure beats the snow. I saw a bikini today that looked like a couple strands of thin rope...not much imagination needed. The wearer looked as though some tender skin was. Sun burnt but Carole would not let me offer to rub a soothing balm on the affected parts....and supper was cold. Lol more tomorrow all.

I wish, Lamar. It is 7:15 here and I have been awake most of the night. The wind hit around midnight. It is the first time I have heard a window vibrate. Never been in wind like this. Wow. From our balcony we can look down on the beach. The surge from the wind has the ocean covering where we sat in the sun yesterday and then there are waves on top of that. The morning news has warnings flying all over, most of which I have never heard of before. We heard on the local news last night at ten that a professional surfer ignore posted warnings on the north shore where the Pipeline and huge waves are found and is in critical condition when things went wrong. Further up the beach from our hotel I can see people with boards thinking about it, but the boards are still in the sand. Somehow that seems to me about as smart as standing there looking at L ale Superior with ten foot waves and me with a eight foot canoe. The wind will change our plans for today wee bit but I am happy to experience this....way different tha reading about it or seeing it on the tv. It's just wow.

We did some beach touring today. The whales were out and about. I saw 7 Humpbacks of various ages. None close but a few put on some wild antics. One large adult did four back to back breaches, two clear of the water. It looked like someone dropped a city bus in the water. Simply awesome to see. Another waved at us with a fluke while swimming on its side. Again, just plain awesome to witness these creatures at play. The wind is tamer today with it blowing at about 20-25mph. In the shade of the balcony 33 floors up, the wind is cooler than in the sun while watching all the Waikiki beach activity. Sounds like snow back home so I am happy to be here doing what I am doing....nothing.

Back home now. We got out of bed on Thursday at our usual 7 in the morning but didn't get back to bed until after 10 last night. Giving up the 4 hour time difference we had been up about 32 hours in getting back home with the flight delays and plane switching. Air travel is nice if they can stay on time. The temp adjustment is not a good one. We arrived at our door at about 5:30 yesterday afternoon in short sleeves and shorts. And sandals. 14 degrees here, 83 when we got on the plane in Hawaii. Long sleeves here today.

We had a great trip and have tons of pictures to go thru, tossing one here or there and keeping a ton. I think the card in the camera said it had like 440 pictures on it and the IPad had about 100. The weather was great every day even when it rained. Typical Hawaii rains are short in duration and the longest the rain bothered on either of the two days it was actually forecast was about 7 minutes. I found out that they need a sunscreen with a protection factor of around 320. I still got red with an spf 50...Bullfrog was the brand. I can't say I burned and felt burned but I sure got red. Carole is showing off her tan lines. She could lay down on the neighbor's brown shingle roof and get lost. lol

I'll get some pictures up in a couple days. We have a ton of catching up to do around the house and have to get started with that.
