Title: Orange pearl
Post by: Botanophilia on 02/09/15 19:13 UTC
Still playing around with new pearlex colors.  Gave pumpkin Orange a try today.  Turned out nice.  Pearlex can be interesting stuff; some colors act like pigment, some (like this orange) are like hilites, and some are like pearls.  Some of them make a more clear color than others too.  It took quite a bit to get this color and it's still not pearly like the do-it hilites are at high doses.

I bet those will really light up in the water. Is that just pearlex in clear plastic?

I'm guessing yes, D. I have a pretty large selection of the Pearl-Ex stuff too. It works great in powder paint as well as in the plastic. Like Nike says, some colors will be stronger that others and make a better pearl while others in small amounts create some great hi lite affects. Looks at the tail of the bait to the left. In certain light conditions some of the pearl-ex colors will look a foot thick. Its interesting stuff to say the least. If you get some to try, use it very sparingly until you understand how this product can take off on you very quickly.

Yep just pearlex in clear.  That's how I'm testing them, 2 oz plastic and starting them out weak and adding more to see the effects.  I'll shoot some baits and if I don't like it I melt them and add more pearlex.
