Continuing my pearlex theme, I revisited a color that I had high hopes for: Duo Green-Purple. According to Jacquard: "Duo colors change color depending on the light angle.". So we're talking flip flop colors. I hoped this could be a great addition to motor oil to give green or purple hilite shimmer depending upon light reflection. This was the first color I tried out of the assortment I got at xmas time. What I got was a minty green clear bait with some violet hilite. Added to motor oil it didn't change the color much and added little hilite. Today I again worked with clear plastic and increased the dose of pearlex to a full 1/8 teaspoon for 2 oz; if you've worked with the Do-It hilites you know this is A LOT. This is the amount used to achieve the MO Milk color w/ violet hilite. Still gave me a clear green bait, the violet hilite looks a little more blue. Interesting color, not sure how it will work. I have not checked it under water, in water it might do cool things. You can see this unaltered in the bottom bait. For something a little different and to see how going opaque would affect it, I added 1 drop of white x2, not surprisingly it made a very light minty green. Somewhat surprising is the hilite effect was greatly diminished. 3 drops of M-F watermelon and some .015 black flake and I got a dead ringer for mint chip ice cream. Do fish like ice cream?
