Title: Need Some Help
Post by: Lamar on 03/02/15 18:08 UTC
Need some help figuring out what hook this is. A buddy of mine wants a few of these made up. They are 3/8 oz and a 6/0 hook. I can't find anything that matches that hook and will fit in a shaky head mold.

Is it a 90° bend?  If so, I been looking for that in a 4/0.  Only ewg 90° I know is a mustad.  They only make it in a size 6 I think?  More than likely a custom hook I'll bet.

I have the same question, "what bend-angle".

My first thoughts are Mustad 91768 but that's a 28/30-degree bend.  I think Gamakatsu may make a 90 like that, but I'm typing this off of memory and could well be wrong.

I'm not sure. It may be a 90. It's a picture he sent me. We are looking for a wide gap hook like this for our shaky heads for use with our 10 inch worms.

That looks like an EL111BP, available in a 6/0.

That is a EL2405 in 1/0. It is a lot bigger than a standard sized 1/0.

It does look like the 111bp.  I like those hooks.
Gama makes one like that. But it's small  I think.

[

Lamar you may try heating and bending a 91768 mustad. I bent a few to fit my football jig mold and I love how they turned out.
It may be worth a shot.

Defiene is showing a flat eye on his, but are you going with that or the inline eye?

The in-line line tie is an Eagle Claw L111BP,  a flat eye would be the Mustad 38108 which is the heavy wire and goes to 6/0 in size.
