Title: Quiet morning of fishing
Post by: ctom on 03/31/15 15:01 UTC
I tried the big river in a marina today but to no avail. The water is still only 40 degrees in spite of a 65 degree day and strong sunlight after the morning fog cooked off. Very little wind early on and it was about as peaceful as a guy could ask for. Tons of shoals of pin minnows were in and around the floats under the dock decking...millions of the tiny minnow fry. I am assuming that the crappies are not going hungry after see all those minners. I did catch 3 short crappies but the larger fish just didn't seem to want to play.

Friday I'll head to the local puddle and try for some crappies there.
