What type of worm hook do you like? EWG, round bend, or do you use both? I like extra wide gap hooks but I seem to be missing a lot of fish.
-
I use EWG for most of my fishing. Gamakatsu, Owner, and Trokar. For pitching in thick stuff I will use the plastic barbed hooks as well.
-
i use a EWG Gamakatsu hook for worms. Missing fish is just part of this sport. When worm fishing I always let the fish run a few seconds before setting the hook. Seems to get me better hook ups.

Worm hook???... is that something like a jig without the lead?
-
EWG.
-
EWG all the way. Only time I use anything else is for flipping.

I tend to favor EWG, Gamakatsu (3/0 and 5/0 584, and a few 5/0 SkipGaps) mostly but there are a few 3/0 Trokars in there. I do have quite a few Owner 5101 which is a Longer-shank Sproat Bend...these are good for rigging Tubes that have the Point Skin-hooked because the "Height Offset" between the Eye and Point (Point/Eye horizontal) is major which favors the thickness of a Tube. I also like these for "traditional" Worm-rigging where the Point is buried in the Worm Body at an Angle, slightly upwards...I find a 7.5" Ribbontail likes being rigged as such.

Round bend for almost everything as long as it isn't a real thick bait.usually 4/0 for most everything.
-
Have to say round bend as all the worm hooks I have are the 45 Automatic Eagle Claw worm hooks

I think it's something for bass . I don't know I prefer fish with teeth lol ;D
-
straight shank unless i am fishin thicker bodied baits than the ewg hooks. I use alot of gammies for soft plastic baits.Seems like the straight shank hooks come through grass better than the ewg hooks also.
-
round bend 4/0-5/0 with coil keeper with encased alignment pin always for worms unless its something near the diameter of a senko. better hookups & wont grab weeds or grass

Round bend worm hook on worms and EWG on thicker bait's like swim bait's and tubes.
