Title: A Look back at 2015 Photo/Story Thread (Pic Heavy)
Post by: Jordan on 10/16/15 15:53 UTC
Summer is over and fall is in the air.  We are looking at lows in the 20's tonight  :o  Winter will be here before we know it.  I thought this would be a good time to start a thread for everyone to post photos of their adventures from this past year before we get into the heart of the tackle-crafting season and reminisce some of those “big fish” stories.  Feel free to chime in and share some of your photos/stories from this past year and enjoy a few of the photos below from us at team Do-It.

The trouble for a lot of us is being able to post pictures! I love seeing everyone's fishing pictures though! :D

Great idea. No fish in this pic but one of the group back in a remote wilderness lake in Canada we portaged into. Notice the Muck boots. I think I go there for the camaraderie as much as anything else. If you think we look like a group from Ocean 11 then maybe we are. The guy in the Ohio State hoodie is in the military and had to have special clearance to board the plane because his luggage showed positive for C4 explosives. Trust me it's never boring with this group.

For my Son's 30th birthday we finally took that long discussed trip to Canada and it was well worth it! We stayed at Hyatt's Manion Lake Camp  http://hyattscamp.com/   which is about 1.5 hrs. northeast of International Falls, MN. It's a "drive to" camp and WELL worth the effort!! The cabins were clean and comfortable and the smallmouth bass fishing was outstanding! Most go for the walleyes...but my Son and I went to fish for the smallmouth.
We caught at least a couple hundred 16-19" smallmouth and at times it was one every cast. Big beefy fish too!

We are planning to go back again next year...but maybe not...Andrew just found out that his wife is pregnant with our 2nd Grandchild...and due 3 weeks before our reservation! Ummm....I wonder how much trouble we would be in if we went anyway?????

I just love that area of Canada. I think the wildlife and fishing in general is better. We drive up 502 to Sioux Lookout and then portage from there. Only a few smallmouth up there. Where your at the smallmouth are like little footballs and fight like crazy.

Had a pretty good year fishing, it was to short but it was fun.

Found some nice smallmouth on a local lake.

Love to be on the lake at sunrise!

OK, I got a picture to load in the Gallery. From left to right, My son Brian, Me (muskygary), my son Shawn, My grandson Jared and Jack. We caught 11 fish on the charter, 3 skamina, 1 king, 7 Lake Trout. Everyone had so much fun that were going to do it next year! It was my birthday, but I picked up the tab!  LOL (Loaded in "Why we do it")

Burn, great fishing photos.....looks like a riot.

I fished down your way for a for a few days and wade fishing for bull reds on light tackle is as good as it gets.  My Texas buddy, who was hosting us, got tagged by a stingray and that gave me serious pause.  After seeing that, I never lifted my foot off the bottom and shuffled around for the next few days.  Still a fantastic fishing experience.

Stingrays are abundant and can pop you pretty good.  You did it right with the shuffle. First thing I always tell guys new to wading is to never lift your feet until you get back on the boat. You just kind of glide around like you are skating.  Hope he doing well cause those things have some nasty bacteria on those barbs.
