Title: Sour grape
Post by: ctom on 11/03/15 16:09 UTC
This purple/chartreuse split body color has been one of my pets for several years yet I never figured there was a name for it. I was digging thru some Slider color plates today and found one that's a spittin image of these I did the other day and its called sour grape. Go figure.

The Thump-It in the 1.5" size wears this color beautifully.

Great color Tom. I love using purple with green chartreuse tail for walleyes and since everyone makes them with yellow chartreuse it really helped push me into making my own baits.

Most all of my tail color plastic starts out as regular old chartreuse and gets a tiny bit of green to bring the color around to what you mention. I add a bit of white too so that the color is just not quite transparent. The crappies and sunfish in the lake just north of my hometown prefer a much greener chartreuse on two colored baits. I see the same preference on the Mississippi River too.
