Title: braid to fluorocarbon
Post by: WALLEYE WACKER on 12/13/15 21:48 UTC
Look up FG KNOT and watch video. I have always used back to back uni knots until I used the FG. Hands down the best and only one I will tie from now on.

I found the quickest knot to tie for braid to fluorocarbon is a Surgeon knot.

Instead of going though twice, go though 3 times.
Can be tie in 5 seconds and have not broken one in more than 5 years of using braid and Fluorocarbon.

that fg knot looks like it will get hung up in guides?

try the crazy alberto knot
easy to tie , works great and slips through guides easy
Trick is always make loop with the fluoro then use braid to make  knot

It takes me too long to tie so I've gone to the Albright knot and have been happy with it.

I have known the FG as a Kelm style from years back... the bigger your floro/mono is, the more this knot excels.  I still use a double Uni-knot out of speed and simplicity of tying the smaller stuff I typically use.
