Anybody use the powder rather than the liquid colorant?
How much powder to 1 drop of liquid?

I've never used MF but I do use other kinds of powders. If you have the pinch smidgen dash spoons I usually start with the pinch in 4 oz and some colors I end up with closer to a dash. You really just have to play with each color to get it to the way you like it.

Do you put the powder in before or after you heat it?

I've done both ways. I usually put it in raw plastic if I'm starting out knowing exactly what I want to put in, but you can add it after its hot too.

Now I also use pro tec powder paint in my plastics. I thought that if you warmed the plastic up first the powder might clump, so I always put my powder in cold plastic. As far as the right amount, you just have to eye ball it and try, try, again!

Hey Mike, is that pinch smidgen dash thing an ingredient measurement? I can see where it would be useful, but have never seen a measuring device for that.

I picked up a set of these measuring spoons at a local Amish variety store. Stainless steel too.

I also use the small measuring spoons for both glitter and powders. They may not be ready available but I find them very useful for making consistent baits. I purchased mind from lure craft and every once in awhile I find them in a retail store.

My current set is 5 spoons, Drop, Smidgen, Pinch, Dash, Tad. Stainless, inexpensive, indispensable.
If You may do any hand-pouring, get a Stainless Steel Drizzle Spoon.

Yep that's what I use. I bought the lure craft ones. They are great to keep things consistent.

Been to The Dutchman's in Cantril many times. I'm about 35 minutes due West on Hwy 2. The Zimmermans are good, hard working folks. They are Menonite, allowing more modern amenities than the Amish. There are several Amish stores around the Bloomfield-Drakesville communities.
