Okay. Many of us have been through the issues of the larger size glitter like .035 curling in the hot plastic. But my question is ,why when I remelt plastic baits with large flake from the large bait manufactures the glitter doesn't curl? Trust me I have over cooked some which should have curled, but it didn't. I have tried glitter from a couple suppliers that sell bait making supplies, but haven't found one that holds up very well. Anyone having any real success with the larger size glitter?

Welcome aboard Fakebait. I like the name :). I guess I've never used glitter larger than .040 in any baits, so I really can't answer your questions. I may have to look into using some larger sized glitter to see if the problem is common.

I rarely use glitter, and that's one of the reasons why. 80%-90% of the baits I make are remelts and repeatedly remelting causes components to degrade more and more, and glitter is the most sensitive component so I omit flake/glitter.
I loves me some remelts!

I use quite a bit of glitter in smaller sizes, those of .015 and smaller. I also have a handful of colors in .040 but rarely use them, however none have ever curled on me. I think the larger flake sizes are the trouble makers and as BKJ has mentioned, reheats and remelts are where troubles pop up. Maybe use a smaller flake size or eliminate it all together.

I use .40 for almost all my baits that I use glitter in. I've never had it curl. I would think if you used much bigger then that it might give you some clogging issues or incomplete pours.

I only have .04 silver curl on me. Seems like no matter what I do it curls. Haven't had any other curl on me.

It's most likely because they're aluminum. The aluminum flake does not tend to curl, it does however tend to bleed more which is why most (if not all) of the hobby suppliers have moved to high temp coated poly, it holds its color better but does tend to curl.
