Title: Color recipe for a bluegill tail...
Post by: 21xdc on 07/13/19 13:45 UTC
I'm thinking something with a small amount of green pumpkin, little chartreuse and blue high light?

Looking for others opinions and results.... These are for a bladed jig trailer.

Yellow maybe instead of chartreuse....try it both ways. I'd keep the green pumpkin sort of thin though. Maybe add some blue and green glitter along with the hi lite.

I'm not wanting any glitter/flash to these. Maybe light green pumpkin with blue highlight?

Does anyone offer turquoise highlight? Maybe just some blue and green highlight mixed into clear?

If I do the turquoise, I will have a lot of black flake in it to break it up and tone down the look.
I'm probably going to have molds made from some mock ups below. Not the colors.

Has anyone used either of these?

I have the lurecraft turquoise colorant, not the pearl though. The colorant is strong and yields an interesting, very, blue-green color. I considered the one pigment you show the link for here but passed because it was a white base. It may have cleared up when added to plastic but it didn't sound that way.

I think what I'd do in your case is to communicate with the company and ask for a small sample of each to work with to see if that's the direction you want to go.

It's me that will be buying all of the colors etc... I'm really hoping someone that has these colors and green pumpkin can mix a few up before I commit...

Light green pumpkin with Turquoise?  Or Turquoise hi-lite....  (http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif)

Why not try some clear plastic with equal amounts of blue and green hilites? Maybe try fluorescent blue mixed thin with a spot of green fluorescent blended in and the two hi lites?

I'm open for anybody to try...  I don't pour plastics... I'm asking for advice and hoping someone will try it...

can't help you much. I did these to check it out. The top bait is clear with a boat load of green and blue hi lites. When it was cooled it showed hardly anything. I added a pinch of pearl to see if the colors would come around but nada. I did another cup using the turquoise colorant [5 drops] and about the same amount of blue and green hi lites. Probably not even close but we tried.
