Cinnamon brown/purple flake...
« on: 11/10/11 12:10 UTC »
A member was asking about a cinnamon color so I made something quick to see if it was close. Mine wasn't close to the web pictures now that I look at them. He nailed it with LC colors but thought I would still post the pic. Next time I will go lighter on the M-F cinnamon. This is 15 drops in 4oz. Probably cut back to 10-12...

That's a good looking color.  Cool baits also.

That's Killer!  I wonder if You could do something similar by mixing Smoke (black) and Brown, then adding Flake?  I like that color with the Purple flake.

I'll tell Ya what, Mr. Jim...that CCM 7" Ribbontail is a FINE Worm.  Since I've gotten into this, I've began looking harder at store-bought soft plastics.  I've always noticed crookedness in many baits, apparently they're not laid to cure (understandable) so they cure crooked/bent, but when I got to looking at worms, I've been truly enlightened on just how much better the quality is in the baits we make, ESPECIALLY with CCM Molds (and plastic).

The sample CCM 7" RT Worm that Jason sent started really opening my eyes to it...and ultimately led me to buy the mold.  I peered-over that worm like I was looking for some kind of answers!  This is definitely Top Shelf Quality.

Fine Work, Sir!  Yawl too, Barnes' Family!!!

C'mon latest order!  (rubbing hands together...mad scientist grin)

I love that color!  Looking at that pic (the two baits together) makes me want to create a thin bug style ribbon tail.  Imagine the worm body doubled width wise, with a single tail. It would bulk it up a little and slow down the fall.  No idea if it would work well, something to add to the list to try.

Thoughts?

The very Tip should be the same diameter, then the Tapering Bug Body would be widest in the middle, then tapering back down to the "original" diameter at the start of the tail.  Flipster-style body proportions, Flipster-style "ridges" (or just the Original RT ridges), with the Flister-style "indentation" down the center, lengthwise...and try to keep the Thickness of this Widened Body the same, or close to the same, as the Original 7" RT's Thickness (at the thickest), while the Flipster-style indentation down the center may be thinner than the Original 7" RT thickness.  Me personally, I'd make this wider body positioned so the tail is "up" or "down" naturally, not "to the side"...the greatest width would be "90 degrees" to the tail.

Would the new width be 150% (1.5 times...or added 50%) original width or 200% (twice) original width?

I like the idea.  Your idea here, would also open up the door if someone wanted to throw that bait as a Snake, because the wider body would ride higher, easier.

Edit:  AHA!  You said doubled.  Roger on'na 200%.
