need a good green motoroil recipe
« on: 03/18/12 18:30 UTC »
Just what the title says.  I have a customer needing the old green motoroil color you use to see all the time.

Thanks
God Bless!

I'd start with amber and tone it to the green using green or baby bass and maybe just a hint of black on a stir stick.

I've been playing with amber colorant for a couple weeks now and when used with other colors and/or hi lites it can be bent in any direction you want it to go. Cool color to work with since its not a yellow, nor is it a brown or red or green. A strong ambe with gold glitter and gold hi lites will creat a bait that looks like its 24 carat. But try the green in with it and to tone things down some I dip a stir stick in black and wipe off all but just a speck of it to stir in and bring things down a little....this is way less than a drop of black and in a 4 ounce batch can really change things.

I was messing with amber today.  I added a bunch of small red and gold flake and it came out a peach color.  Interesting how the glitter choice influences the final color.

Amber is interesting. It is amzing how color reflected thru it will create something totally new.
