A question for Kyle
« on: 08/06/21 08:32 UTC »
I love the new powder paint that was introduced especially the purple smoke!! Anyway, I saw that there is a giveaway of that paint of Facebook. The issue is not everyone here uses Facebook and are basically shut out from a chance to get in on the giveaway. My question for Kyle is why can't the powers that be find a way to include the forum members on the product giveaways in addition to the Facebook users? There are a good number of forum users that don't subscribe to any social media platforms, myself included. I know that Facebook will reach substantially more people but the forum members are loyal customers as well and should be able to have a chance at a giveaway without having to get on social media. I do understand that it probably can't be done but I would hope in the future that Do-it can find a way to include non-Facebook users in its product giveaways.  I also want to apologize to Kyle as this may sound kind of harsh but it isn't meant to be. I love Do-it and all the products as well as the forum so I was just hoping everyone could get in on future product sales and giveaways. Thanks for everything!

I agree with smalljaw. I have closed an account on Facebook for personal reasons.
Thanks for listening Kyle and Do-It!

Good morning everyone!  No apology necessary, Smalljaw!  You've brought up a great/valid point.  I 100% understand and feel where you are coming from.  There have definitely been some contests and giveaways that have been exclusive to our two main social pages on Instagram and Facebook without sharing any of the love with our family of forum members here.  We feel having these contests on varying platforms adds value to them each individually and in some ways gives someone a reason to follow our content on those platforms. By the same token, we have had and hosted forum only contests and giveaways that are exclusive to our forum and aren't ever shared on our social pages.  This is both a reward to our forum members, like you, and also an incentive for someone who likes our Instagram page to hop on to our forum and become a member and help share and learn with the rest of us. I know at times it feels like we are giving special treatment to our brother from another mother but that's never been and never will be our intention.  We have had some contests in the past that we've shared across multiple platforms at the same time and we will continue to do that from time to time.  That being said we are working on a New Product giveaway package that we will be doing a contest for in October that will be an exclusive forum member only giveaway.  We value our community here and want to give back to everyone here that participates and helps add value to this forum and family.  We appreciate your loyalty and as always I'll be looking forward to your next hair tying video!

I also closed my facebook account. All the B.S. and getting hacked; I finally had enough and closed that account.

Now I feel bad as I totally forgot that Do-it has had giveaways/contests that were for just forum members. I know it makes total sense for the social media platforms as they will reach not just established lure makers but those who are just thinking about it as well.  I saw that paint and I really wanted in on it and instead of waiting until I had time to think about it I just decided to ask the question. I know you said no apology is necessary but I feel it is because I didn't take all the things you do for the members here into account. So again I apologize for making an issue out of nothing and not thinking it through. It is nice to get new members here that will contribute and the social media platforms are a great way to introduce new people to the forum. Thanks again for understanding.
