Painting Hard Baits
« on: 07/14/12 13:25 UTC »
Hello,
I would like to start painting hard baits and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. At this point, my main focus will be metal spoons/blades. Where would be the best place to buy the equipment? What equipment do I need? Best paint? Process? Eyes, swivel, hole size, tape, etc.
Thanks!

Go to Tackleunderground.com there are some great painters overthere. Your going to need a airbrush, paint (most guys use ceeatex water colors) A finishing coat like Dick Nite, a hair dryer and a lure turner. It's a great hobby once you get set up!

I paint hard baits,  I use createx paint, with an Iwata air brush.  Google Iwata and you will see all kinds of sites pop up that sell them.  I think I paid 50 bucks for mine.  You can spend as little or as much as you want.  After I paint my hard baits I use an epoxy clear coat on them to keep them from chipping scratching etc...  I will try and post a pic on here of some of the stuff I use.
