I'm starting to think you guys should publish an X2 colorants CCM junior cookbook and throw it up for sale! You do amazing work and quickly! Still cant get over how quick you made the cold steel.

I would buy a copy!!!!  Especially if it was in a .pdf format that I could printout and  update on a regular basis. I would be happy to "donate" to the CCM Jr. fund.

The X2 cook book is really important to us non artistic types. The colors/combinations may be obvious to some of you....but NOT to me!!!

I think it would be worth a couple dollars to have it all together in a book right on the workbench rather then looking through the forum. It would also really benefit the people who aren't comfortable with forums and the computer.

College fund?

I'm with Andy on this one. I'm not very good at matching color or making new ones.  Plus I'm color blind with some colors.  Makes it very interesting some days.  : ).

We are going to try and start publishing popular colors in X2 and the recipe needed to make it on a regular basis.  We should be able to put them in a PDF and update it as new recipes are added for downloading.

Good ideas.

Suggestion.....I think you should also post the bait the recipe was made with. Smaller baits will look a lot better with smaller amount of drops. Especially with lots of flake as that will darker the look of the color significantly in a small bait. Larger bass baits look washed out with just 2 drops per 8oz. Almost a smoke color. For the baits I have made, I have had to use at least 4 drops per 4oz to get a decent color.

The recomended drops where you buy the X2 pumpkinseed colorant in the store area is 3 for 4oz or 7 for 4oz.

I am guessing those are the small trout worms? Would be interesting to see a comparative photo of the 10" worm with 2 drops in 8oz just for reference.

The cookbook is a good idea.

Jim

All the drops are referring to the bait / picture listed above.  We used the McGrady because it is similar in diameter to a Brush Hog, has ribs, thin tail and thicker flappers.  Thought this would give a good comparison of the color in different thicknesses of plastic like you pointed out.  Glitter is a whole different story.  It still amazes me how much glitter influences the final color...

Thanks for the tips Jim.
