I think...the attribute that catches my eye the most...is how the lighter Top Color tapers/fades toward the butt as it gets thinner, giving-way to the darker Bottom Color.  Those are very different...cool, but very different.  And being different to this level, may be what makes that Lock-Jawed Beast open his/her mouth.
