1. How would you clamp say...10 carrot molds (10-12 cav each) I use 2  large 600 lb Irwin clamps, placing them evenly on both sides of mold and sometimes I use 1, place it in the middle of molds, leaving room to shoot.

2. What temp do u find carrots shoot best at? high, 350 and up (how high?)...or below 350???

Thanks

It looks like a large mold so I'd say two clamp minimum. I'd try to keep the clamp pads located at mid mold, from top to bottom, and have one at 1/3 of the length from each end. I'd also be sure to clamp the hinge side first.

Why would you need to shoot the mold at over 350 degrees? It looks like it should shoot real well at between 340 and 320 degrees unless you are splitting colors, then I'd push the second color at about 350 and hold some pressure for about 5 or 6 seconds.

You can get by with a little lower temp when your injecting. If your mold has a lot of cavities you may want to push it up s little. Or if it had a lot of small appendages. I really don't think you want to get it up over 350 ever. Most colors are going to change if you do. With a carrot being just a straight bait, you should be able to shoot it at no more than 320-330 max.

is clamping the molds too tight a possibility??? I have tightening them up about as tight as they'll go....and I find one clamp in center of molds produces better than two!!!

The bar clamps have padded jaws so getting things too tight isn't real likely. I know that c-type clamps are a no-no....not sure about a vise.

just made a couple of pours w/clamps down the middle...did pretty well...in fact better than the two clamps spaced acurately.

does pouring at a high temp usually get better results..or not??
