I've been shooting three different baits recently, the 7 inch Wutz it (I keep trying for musky), a Caney Creek Craw, and a Stinger Wutz It 2.5 inch.  Two of them caught fish last weekend.  I wish I could say it was the 7 inch Wutz it, but that day is coming!  Enjoy the video.

Hey Jeff,

Beautifully done video.  It brought back fond memories of float tubing or pontooning on big water in the dead of winter.  Thanks.
Until next time.

Thanks guys.  The rattle in the cavity was improved by making claws first and putting them in, then adding the rattle on the tail side of the cross member of the claw.  I'm happier with the rattle a little further back anyways for hook placement.

I use a jig head I manufacture through my business, Confidence Baits called the Draggin' Head.  Most of the ones we sell are 1/8 and 1/4 oz on 2/0 and 3/0 hooks.  I had to jump up to 5/0 on this craw though.

I also learned that you can make your claws float by being intentionally sloppy with sucking air into the injector.  I draw it in and out, sucking air, then shoot it quick.  It gives me full pours usually, and it leaves bubbles in the claws.  Call it a happy accident that I decided to repeat intentionally.

Mo,  I've spent some time on the New in WV.  Did a several day long camping float trip out of kayaks from Glen Lynn into Bluestone.  That was interesting.  You see the effects of a river that is sometimes a lake.  The better fishing was below Bluestone though, and in the Virginia section as well.  It's on par with the amazing smallmouth fishery in my back yard called the Susquehanna.  I think that only the St. Lawrence might beat them in terms of quality smallmouth.  Now lake smallmouth are different altogether.

Since i grew up in south Louisiana I  never saw a smallmouth till I fished the New, one trip and I was hooked for life!that fish will haunt your dreams lol .a multiday new trip would be amazing. I caught a 3 puonder under the new river bridge in Wv awsome back drop. I did coax her out of a 21  inch beauty two years ago. My buddies and I fish them somewhere every year. This year is a canoe trip to Basswood lake in northern Minnesota. Again awesome video. did you film it with a go pro?

I use Sony cameras.  They play well with my Apple software.  The go pro does not.  I also use a waterproof Nikon point and shoot with video capabilities.  It does OK for YouTube quality, but the better one is my Sony put into a waterproof case.
