Lami plates

I bought the lami plates for 4" carrots they sat on the shelf for almost 8 months or so. So I break them out to give them a try and I am having issues. The bait seems to stick badly to the lami plates and trying to put them back in the mold is a real pain. I have used some work oil on the lami plates as well as softner I even tried pam but nothing seems to help. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Give the plate a good bath in soapy hot water. Dry it well and then use a thin coat of worm oil on the cavity side.

It may help to lay the entire stringer out next to the mold if the baits lift out after the shot using the lami plate. Lay it just as it comes from the mold. Trim off each cavity's piece and re-insert it. This way each piece goes back in the mold exactly where it came out of.

I know these tips aren't much but maybe they'll help. Sometimes a certain bait design just makes doing lams a pain, too. I don't do large scale numbers of baits so I generally stick with hand pouring the bellies....sometimes add the orange throat patch for kicks. Anyway, I hope the suggestions help out.

I agree with the some baits just a pain with lami plates. I went back to the twin injector and I like it better. You get more waste but it works better for me

Polishing the face of the lami plate may help.  Maybe with a rubbing or polishing compound.  Then a really good cleaning.

When I am using a lami plate, I make sure it is clean, then I brush some worm oil on it.  After injecting and letting the plastic set, I unclamp, lay it down flat and move the lami plate back and forth across the mold while it is still on the mold to free the lures from the plate if they happen to be sticking to it.  All of my plates only have one placement pin, so I use that pin as a pivot point in the mold.  This method works for me for the most part.  Hope this helps!

Never thought about sliding them apart put it worked out better still get some tails popping out but much better then the whole bait popping out thanks crabby
