3.5" swim shad pro mold question
« on: 03/05/13 12:30 UTC »
I'm eyeing this mold for a swim jig\ spinnerbait trailer my question is which tail do the guys that have this bait prefer? And does the pro mold work fine with the BT dual injectior system for laminates? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated thank you

I just read read your post and looked at the time line, I was laughing inside knowing  very well how u feel.. I dont have the pro mold but i do have the 8 cavity and I am the same way before buying a high dollar mold. I have made my mind up to buy it just wanting to make sure im right on the purchase so I ask my wife, brother, and kids what they think about the mold..... In the end it really dont matter im buying it anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!   Good luck with your 3.5 pro mold.......post up some pics, that is one of my favorite parts of this fourm is looking at the great products being put out by all the  members...

Basshunter5 I have the 3.5 3 cavity & 4.5 4 cavity with the original tail. I use it on Do-It's poison tail swim jig, round ball jig's and 1/8 oz. swim bait hook gives you the side to side roll you want. The tail action is great even at slower speed  in the fall for walleye's.And also at faster speed for bass in the summer. Now too the other part of the question the BT dual inject will do perfect lam's with ccm mold's. mike 8)

I have the 3.5 three cavity mold and love it. I have the thin tail and think if I had it to do over again I would go with the original. I think the laminates would be a little better.
Walleye Wacker: What size hook are you using for your 1/8 oz swim bait. I've been wanting to try that with this bait.

Tpalmer you hit the nail right on the head lol I knew I was gonna buy it regardless its just nice to hear from  others to give me a little reasurrance.  I went with the original tail I've had several customers bugging me for awhile about getting a swim jig or spinnerbait trailer. Then one of em says it would be awesome if you could get one with your bigfoot frog leg. Lol well he's in luck can't wait to shoot em thanks guys for your feedback

lamar I use a 2/0 ewg worm hook not the heaver braid one . You get better hook set with the standard ewg hook. I have the Do-it weighted swim hook mold. 8) mike

Here is where a sample bag might be a big help.  Get samples and compare the two both in hand and on the water.  Nothing is as nagging as "did I make the right decision";  especially these days.
