Need some insight
« on: 03/16/13 20:07 UTC »
I've been looking at the 3.5" croaker, and the 3.5" swim toad.  Which one do you guys prefer and why?  Pros/Cons?  They both look great.  Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I've got the four inch toad and really like it.  What I like most is that it is something totally different than anything else.  Also heard great things bout the croaker, but have no personal experience.  Probably be better off flipping a coin, and you will probably be happy with either one.  Better yet, save money and get both!!  You can order samples from do it, then you could try both.  Hope this gives a little insight.  Joey

I have the 3.5" swim toad and believe it is more versatile than the croaker.  You can add a bullet weight weight and swim it subsurface, you can fish it weighless and rip it across the surface and you can even use it as a jig trailer.

Thanks CrabbyBass.  I'm kinda leaning toward the 3.5 swim toad, but who knows, I'll probably end-up with a couple of each!! LOL

If you search the threads you'll find Jason describing the uses for the toad. What do you fish with more, frogs or swim baits? There's your answer.

I got samples of each in a few different sizes and decided on the 4" toad.  I was initially leaning towards a 3" or 3.5", but when I got samples they were smaller than I expected.

Sample packs are a wise investment.  Andrew has his digital thermometer,  I have my sample pack.
