IMHO you're better off with sit on top kayak for fishing. Much more stable. Don't know much about the vapor. But like everything else, with kayaks you get what you pay for. I would test paddle several different brands. I'd definitely give the Ocesn Kayak,Jackson, Widerness, and Native brands a long look. I don't know what your budget is like, but it might be worth waiting and saving up a while to get yourself s good quality boat. I'm fishing out of an Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game right now and love it. It's a 13 footer and very stable. I can stand up and fish if I want. Still only weighs in around 70 lbs or so. Mine is a little older, but I think the new ones are around 800.00 or so. The other brands I mentioned go up from there. I really like the Jackson Cuda 12 and the Wilderness Ride 135. Very good boats. Like my Ocean, those brands have plenty of stability and below deck storage for rods and such. The one thing I didn't like about the Native Slayer was no below deck storage for rods. You really might want to check around for good used boats too. Sometimes you can find a good deal on Craigslist. Hope GoodHope any of this helps. Good luck.
