I have used these before.  I can only use them from Dec to Mar because the weed growth is so immense in the lakes that I fish.  Some things to keep in mind:

1.  You will need a bait glue to seal the bait back up after inserting because you will have to cut the bait open to get the weight inside
2.  The bait must be a full hollow belly because the insert takes up so much space in the bait
3.  It is difficult to re-rig on the fly so consider having multiple set ups before going out

It is a really nice deal if you make hollow belly's I highly recommend them.
