The hook in this jig is a super wide gap 1/0 in a 7/16oz jig head. It is new to me, it is a 60 degree flat eye hook, an Eagle Claw L2405 Black Platinum and it is super sharp. I got it for a new jig I'm working on, it is sort of a power finesse jig if you will. I want these jigs to be able to fish a beaver style bait with a heavier head but more compact, this will have about 30 strands of skirt material and while it is hard to see because there isn't any size reference, it will be a smaller profile than an ordinary 7/16oz jig with a large hook. I've been messing with this for a bit but I couldn't use beaver style baits because there wasn't any hooks with enough bite in a smaller size and then I found this one. The length is about that of a round bend 2/0 but it has the bite of a larger 4/0 or 5/0 hook. I did try , and like, the Mustad 38109 45 degree EWG hook but I had to use a 3/0 or larger so it was a little too long but this might be what I wanted. I'll put it together later and then give it a shot in a few weeks when this will come into play, well that's it, I figured you guys might like to see this.
