Another nice walleye plastic

Here is the 4" Swim Stick. This has walleye scrolled all over it but bass should find favor with too. This flat bottomed baits has a very thin, active tail section that is wild right out of a solo shoot or when done as a separate tail color. The tail area is well vented so complete fills are in order with a mold hot or cold. The body area of the bait is vented nicely toward the rear of the body run and complete fills are the standard when doing separate tail colors. The real beauty of this mold is having the flat half of the mold being the vented side so hand pours of one color in the body cavity can be finished with an injection to get a two color body. As seen here, core shots are doable too.

All of the colors shown are re-melts using X2 colors. In the center of the picture the solid body color baits have eyes to show that they are a doable aspect too. The shorter of the two center baits I cut off at the front of the worm sac, dipped into the purple body color to help round off the cut then dipped in the eye dip.

The flat nature of the bottom of the bait makes this mold a great candidate for just hand pouring too. Personally I'd shoot a bunch of full baits to get tail colors, re-insert the tails and then hand pour to finish if hand pouring is your bag.

As always, Great looking baits!  Those look like spring walleye candy to me! That purple/Chart combo can be killer at times.

I agree Kyle. Fall walleye really enjoy chewing on purple/chartreuse plastics too.

The narrow profile of the work makes it a likely candidate for dead-of-winter do-nothing bait dragging. The tail is all that a guy wants working and in cold water with little current the fingers of the tail should be seductive....as seen it can be shortened to better fit a tight window when the fish get fussy. I'm wanting to give this and the flipp'n zip a real dunk test this fall early on....like late October while I can still feel my fingers.

Personally I don't think I'll do any more of the cores with this bait but I had to try it. The single body color and separate tail color are enough to tri the walleyes' trigger. Let's see. It'll be July in a week and that means about 3 1/2 months for the river to come down and the flow rate drop from over 125,000 cubic feet per second to around 13,000cfs. It might make it if we head in the direction of a drought.
