A buddy of mine that I work with is on the board of this origination which takes wounded soldiers on hunting and fishing trips around Texas and is based here in Houston. My friend, Bryce, is a wounded vet himself and last year we had the privilege of taking 3 soldiers on a world class quail hunt down at the ranch. Things couldn't have worked out better as we hunted on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning 4 hrs each. In those small sessions we were able to get up 10 coveys on Saturday and 14 Sunday. Needless to say we had a great time and showed those guys a great time. If you clink on the link below and go to pictures, our trip is the Matagorda Quail Hunt. The head guy of the organization is actually a Houston Dynamo player, Houston's Pro Soccer team, and he recently played on the world cup squad. Anyways, I was driving into work a couple weeks ago and head him on the local sports talk show and that's when he said he was gearing up for some summer time trips for these guys and the lights went on in my head about donating baits. I remember someone on here shot several baits with scrap and leftover plastic and gave them to the boy scouts and that's what gave me the idea. To date I have made a few hundred shrimp, bull minnows, and jerk baits to give to these guys from both scrap and new plastic that I will deliver on Friday at the Hunters Extravaganza here in town. I just wanted to put the word out what these guys are doing and if you had some old or scrap plastic you were looking to do something with, this is as good of a cause as any.
