Hey guys I just got my business licensed this week. I'm really excited to see were this road takes me and the family! I have been a faithful doit customer for years after leaving a competitor to try the essential plastisol I was amazed with this stuff! So I gave the X2 colorant a go and was all about it leaving my other colorants to hard pack to the bottoms of the containers they were left sitting in. I had a guy bring me a lure and ask if I could make something close to the color he had in his hand and sadly I don't think it's possible with X2 but I do have it in another brand from way back but it's hard as a rock. Any tips on making this workable again would be greatly appreciated. Anyways back to the problem at hand... I did not know until I picked up all my paperwork from the CPA that there was a excise tax on fishing equipment of 10% of the final sale cost! Between this and packaging it's already putting a hurt on me beyond belief. Making it really hard to compete... may be music to somes ears but very painful to mine. I had planned this as my retirement since the states is a whooping 1%! So not only will I never be able to retire from the state it looks like the government will make this business a hard road to hold as well... but something as small as helping get my packaging at better pricing could literally save my "retirement". If any of you guys would chime in on this I would greatly appreciate it. It's a big difference doing it for yourself and friends vs opening up to the public. I thought I had planned well over the years for this but it goes to show you can't plan for everything I guess. While on this topic I'm also looking for some wholesalers for different things jig heads being one of them. I have the molds to pour what I need but would rather deal strictly with plastic and maybe give the lead business to one of you guys.
