The Venerable Soft Plastic Worm.  They're still catching fish today.  Are they still "hot", or have they been overtaken by the Creatures?

Last year my number one worm was:
6" Skinny Carrot
Watermelon/Red flake and clear/silver flake

I'v been pouring a lot of 6" Flippin Sticks ....and I really like 'em.

Worms have really stood the test of times regardless of the creature that has came out, so I think an old worm still can't be beat today. I have fished the Zoom Magnum worm most of the time, but that was until I purchased my 7" ribbon tail worm mold from CCM. This year is a totally different story, I will fish the 7" RT instead and Magnums, same colors of course and find out who's worm is the bomb. My favorite color here is Green Pumpkin baby, but don't get me wrong, I can go other places and fish Junebug or black and they will produce better results.

My all time favorite worm has always been and still is a 5" baby bass Yamamoto senko.  With that said, I've been pouring a ton of 5" skinny carrots and have come up with my own baby bass version that I'm itching to fish.  Hopefully, I'll get out this weekend. The 4 1/2 inch Toad and the 3 1/2 Croaker are probably my favorite molds so far.
Until next time.

1.  5.25" stick poured like an F15- tight in the middle and loose in the flaps, fished wacky or T-rigged weightless

2.  My favorite so far is the 6" skinny carrot- in the water it looks just like a small Lamprey Eel which is like smallmouth candy on the river.  (Especially now that I know the funky color-thanks Andrew!) ...but what is the most popular like the original question asked-good Jason question- Jason?

3. My favorite all time is pumpkinseed.  These last few years I have begun an affair with watermelon seed though...

In summary I will say, no matter what creature baits come out, a good ole' tasty worm morsel should always be in your tackle box.  -my opinion

I have a 5 1/4" stick from Del, very close to GY. I make a blue gill color that does great, in my opinion it's done better than W/M/R.

Favorite CCM mold...Frogs hands down!

I haven't fished a worm much at all in the last twenty five years.  But; when I bass fished I fished a very scarce hand poured worm very much like CCM's 7 inch ribbon Tailed Worm.  Motor oil with gold glitter was my best ( and thus favortie ) color. If and when I start back it will be right there for starters.  Finesse fishing was done with a hand poured worm very much like the 3.75" Zipper drop shot ( just a little thicker ).  Either motor oil with glitter or almost clear blue or green with very light silver glitter ( clear water baits ) on a Charlie Brewer Slider Head.  ( the Smith Lake Special ).

trick worm in black was by far the best for me this year. Watermelon in 2nd.  But the biggest fish was caught on a red shad culprit 7in worm.
Carrot stick mold is right now.
