Weed guards

Which weed guards are you guys using on your football jigs and flipping jigs? What model number? I can’t seem to find one stiff enough in green pumpkin. Where I live we have a lot of current and rocks that will hang you up fast. Thanks

I'm assuming you need FG-30 weed guards which are 1/8" diameter. If that is the case you can go to BOSS and buy the 1/8" heavy or go to Barlow's Tackle and under the FG-30 you can get .018",  .021", or .024" diameter strands. Get the .024" diameter strands and when you put the weed guard in your jig trim the guard so when you push it back the fibers align with the bottom of the hook barb. That weed guard with trimming will make it plenty stiff, I've never had someone tell me they needed more.

I use the BOSS heavy weed guards on all my brush jigs and there they really do a good job. I was worried that they would be too heavy, but I've landed plenty of 12-14 bass on them. The molded base is really nice.

Thanks guys. Do it doesn’t make a heavy in green pumpkin and Jann’s Netcraft didn’t have it either.
