X2 Flourescent Blue
« on: 09/04/20 15:27 UTC »
Hello having a issue with the X2 Flourescent Blue.  I keep getting little clumps of the colorant in the  plastic  and its bugging the heck out of me.   Anyone else have this problem
?  I stirred the heck out of it and still get the clumps.

Never seen that but then I don't use the Fluorescent blue that often and I have three, 5/16" stainless steel nuts in mine to act as agitators while shaking. They do a great job of mixing especially if the color has sat for a long while.

Hey Shaunm81, are use adding the blue to uncooked plastisol, or after cooking? I have had some issues when adding blue and yellow after cooking. Seems not to happen if adding before cooking plastisol.

Try adding fluorescent colors to raw plastic then heat if you are not doing that already. Secondly, you said you mixed it good. Mix it “gooder”!  If you have access to a wire coat hanger cut a length off about 2”  longer than the bottle. Bend a small eye on the end of it making sure the cut end is flush with the shaft. Chuck into a drill and mix making sure to lightly scrape the bottom. I suspect you might have some hard pack issues.

Thanks Lines and Fisherman and  ctom. I did exactly what you guys said and it solved my issues.   I made the drill mixer and mixed up nicely.

Glad you solved the problem. I'm thinking about thinning my blue and yellow X2 colors before adding to see how they react.
FishermanBT, LOL on "mix it gooder".

I bought several of these little mixers and they work great on getting the paint all mixed uo after it hard packs a little.

Lamar is spot on with that little mixer.  Handy little gadget for sure. Works great on the 1 and 2 oz bottles but not on bigger ones. A bad hard packed bottle will give it a work out but doable. I’ve even used it to blend powder paints together for custom colors.
