A pile of perch.....
« on: 01/07/26 11:31 UTC »
Using the Open Water Swin Jig I dolled a bunch of fresh castings up with Candy Yellow. Then the fun began. Using the airbrush and Transparent paints from both Do-It and Createx I splashed some perch colors on the jigs, topped them off with Attack Series Warmouth eyes [size 2.5] and gave them a couple dips in non-uv CS Seal Coat. I'm lovin the outcome.

These guys are ready for some plastic. The Slick Shiner done in Green pearl thin smoke over white pearl with a just a thin wipe of yellow CS plastic dip across the very bottom of the belly should make a nice color accompaniment for these heads.

The top photo shows what the Candy Yellow does as a base coat. Using transparent top colors allows a lot of the super reflective candy coat to show thru..... almost as if they were done over a foiled base color. Really nifty.

Those are some tasty looking treats you’ve painted up. I do like me some candy color powder paints. Without digging through my color cookbooks, I use to dip candy yellow and then tap on another powder (maybe copper) I called it bruised green apple. Really gave a nice look to a football head kind of like a chartreuse craw look. The smallmouth loved it.
