Problems with MF Grape (and other purples)

Has anyone ever had an issue with the color grape (or purple) disappearing when cooking? I don't get it.
I had this problem in the past, but thought it was the Del colorant I was using.

I was making a color I don't make very often (Junebug) which is 75 Drops of MF Grape and 6 drops of MF Blue non-bleed. (per cup of plastic)

Before you know it, the color Grape cooks right out of the plastic

Did I not shake the bottle enough? Is it the color purple? Some one else must have had this happen before.....please help.

Are you adding before or after you heat your plastic?

Blue is notorious for this but I haven't had any problem with purple.

Problem is, you are getting your plastic to hot. Not to knock the M-F colorant on this but LC's Black Grape will stand up to the heat better. Only downside to me is that it is a bleeding color.

Lower your heat and reduce to no re-heats and you will be OK.

Colorant also has a really bad habit of settling.  The small MF bottles are pretty tough to get mixed back up again.  You can press the edges of the bottom and that helps it break loose.  In the larger bottles I usually put a screw or few nuts in my bottles so they help mix it back up.

Good point. I use bb's in my small ones. Add 3-4 to your bottle to keep things on the bottom mixed.

Or, pour so many baits you go right through your colorant and nothing can settle!!! LOL!
