Swim fry 2.5 inch
« on: 08/20/12 20:05 UTC »
I'm curious if anyone has caught trout on these? I got one as a test bait from jason and the bite was slow so having previous conversations with some guys on here about crappie fishing I figured I'd grab the ultralight and see it I could snag some crappies and within 45 min I had landed 4 large mouth before the last one took the tail off. Sadly no crappie so sorry panfish guys but I tried. Thinking this might be my next mold purchase.

The Swim Fry is one of those baits that just catches fish - all fish.  The example I use is when we were testing it Andrew and I fished in our cove for about 30-45 min and caught 4 fish each.  1 Cat, 2 Crappie, 2 Bass (one small, one close to 4lbs - Andrew), 1 Bowfin, 1 Sunfish, 1 Goggle-eye.  I truly think if a fish is around it, it will eat it.  I would love to get it around some Sand or White Bass.

We have stripers and white bass here but I was using it on a lake. I wonder what the striper and white bass would do on the Monongahela river. For all those guys that fish the mighty Mississippi yes my river feeds it  :D . Ugh I have a feeling you will be putting that mold in the mail for me tomorrow.

I havent used the 2.5 inch fry on trout but I have used the 1.75 inch on trout and they just kill it.. My only reason for not fishing it is the fact that the 1.75 works so well.  I have caught trout up to10lbs(yes they were stocked trout not wild) on the small fry.

I have a friend in Ohio that I gave some to and he was catching trout on them, brown was working for him, I think since white tube jigs are the ticket here on lake michigan during the fall that maybe white swim frys will work too.
