Something like this would be an excellent addition to your open pour lineup Jason. I have a couple open pour shad molds. They're very easy to pour and make a nice looking bait. Laminates are a breeze. One I have is headless. It's designed to be used with a jighead. The other, which is by far my favorite is a 3.5" shad mold with eye dimples and a hook slot. One thing I really like about it is, because it's top pour, it gets a shallow channel down its back as the plastic cools and shrinks. That makes it fairly snag resistant without skin hooking the hook point. Thus improving hookups. It has a great action as well. In addition to the tail wiggle it has a great flickering or rolling action similar to a Shadrap when fished on a 1/8th or 1/4oz swimbait hook. This bait has really shined when burning it along weedlines in summer. And I mean BURNING. I have a few of the BP wide spool spinning reels. They pull something like 43" of line per tun of the handle. I give a few cranks as fast as I can, then kill it for a couple seconds. The fish absolutely CRUSH it on the fall.
