Floating jigheads

use to fool around with these years ago...don't know where the technology has gone since then.  Do know it was a very valid bait in shallow water, topwater baits at any depth in saltwater.

forgot to add that these types of jigheads would be great with many types of CC baits.

 These work great when the eyes move shallow in the spring. Just nose hook a minnow on one of these about a foot below a splitshot.

They also work on winter bream when they bunch on mid river on rock in 25 feet of water  .  I have caught as many quality bream in Jan. & Feb. in 25 feet as bed fishing in May.

in saltwater, there is a popper type head that is fished as a topwater w.plastic baits....very effective

Floaters are pretty common up here. They get run on all kinds os rigging. I think the most popular style of floater in this area is one that's torpedo shaped and is a soft foam. Many call them Phelps floaters. If you google Phelps floaters you may find them, but the original maker/patent holder died a couple years ago and I don't know if the company still exists.

when I use to buy them b/4. I knew that a guy got a % for every jighead sold...maybe he was the guy that passed away, it was more than 3 cents per bait, don't remember exactly what.
