Getting ready for fall
« on: 08/13/13 17:41 UTC »
Here are some Minnow heads I did in preparation for the cooler weather, the first one is a rabbit hair shad, that one is for the mid fall right after turnover when smaller offerings are needed to coax a bite. The second one is for the cold water when it dips down to the low 50's into the 40's, it is a typical float and fly jig that I tied with craft fur and mallard flank feathers along with ghost pearl flash that is too subtle to show up in pics but it is killer on bass.

You can just barely see the flash on the bottom of the second picture.  I bet it shows up really well when you're fishing it.  Again and again...you just can't beat catching a fish on something you made.  Good job.
Until next time.

Those are nice! I need to take some of jig heads down to my fly tying room and copy those!
