100% re-melts
« on: 04/15/14 14:40 UTC »
I finished getting another crappie box put together today and every single bait in the box in this picture is a Do-It X2 re-melt.

I can't even begin to tell how many times the blue, purple and black have been re-heated from a solid, but I am assuming somewhere in the 15 to 18 times range. The white has seen about 8 re-melts. The bluegill [clear w/flake] has been melted perhaps ten times. The chartreuse, pink and orange are old veterans really and have been melted more than any of the others. They are all still as clean and nice and when they were put together.

The key? Heat control, stabilizer and short bursts of power in the microwave.

One more box to get ready.

That's some cool stuff there -- I did a batch of that bluegill the other day and noticed a little color bleed on the flake -- it was a remelt as well -- still looked ok but wasn't that nice clear

noticed a little color bleed on the flake

I did a batch of firecracker the other day and got some color bleed. First time in firecracker. Kind of a shocker.

I also had some jackrod send me an email the other day saying that he had the color "firecracker" patented and that I couldn't use the name or the colors. Right.

Lol

Mind you I think my color bleed came from the idea that the color started off as a 2 cup batch and by the time I got to under 6 oz the bleed started to happen

Tell him you can't patent a color (although you can trademark it....but it's darn hard!).

LOL....I'll look up his email addy and send it to you then you can ask him what it is. I didn't pay him much attention. Half of the words he tried to use to impress me were mis-spelled. And yes Andy, I know they can't patent a color. I got a good edumacation on all that a couple years back ya know.

The blue is X2 but only like three drops in the original 4 ounces, Mike. There is a wee bit of uv enhancer and some .015 Canadian blue glitter too....not much on the flake.

Thanks Tom I forgot how much glitter can change a color.  Great looking baits

Those look great Ctom! I seem to have the same luck as you with remelts. I've only ever had one problem and that was just glitter bleeding and tinting my white :) just easy does it and a little stabilizer and you're golden
