Shad Hair Jigs
« on: 07/08/14 13:59 UTC »
Here are a couple hair jigs I've done with the hope of fooling a few smallmouth. Unlike the other buck tail jigs I tied these are different, there isn't going to be a weed guard and I didn't tie in a wire keeper as I don't intend to use a trailer with them. The jigs are 3/8oz Snootie heads with a 4/0 Mustad 32786 hooks, I tied in white buck tail for the body and then added white saddle hackle feathers to add some action and I also tied in some white grizzly hackle feathers to give it a small amount of color. I use a bright red on these too hoping it makes them stand out a little bit, I'm going to try them next week and the technique is going to be a slow swimming retrieve close to the bottom, if I'm lucky I'll get a bit or two!!

As usual - I find your baits looking like some fish catching machines!!!!
Take somebody fishing soon!
