Awesome news on the thumper and plastisol? Pat, did you add any softener to the essentilal plastic?
Also as far as the thump grub in 2", why not just cut half in off the head of 2.5" ?
Happy new year everyone.
I didn't add any softener because it was my first time shooting the bait... For my taste, I don't think I will need to add any...  The plastic seems to be a touch softer than the crystal clear plastisol in my opinion...

I cut all of my Essential but the baits in the 1.5" certainly don't need a plastic any softer than the out-of-box Essential. I just like a super soft plastic in my crappie baits. Pretty much personal preference on the plastic softness.

Don't let that softness fool you. The Crystal Clear is an excellent plastic as is the Essential. Medium, soft or whatever, that Essential is wayyyy more elastic than the CC. Side by side with the CC at the get together a year ago the Essential product offered considerably more stretch than did the CC. Mo was a tough one to get away from the play station when he found out how much stretch there was. As a beginner plastic I think Essential offers everything one needs while the CC is one to "graduate" to when the learning curve in all of this gets shortened up. The Essential is more forgiving for sure, but the standard was set with the CC. Both are class act plastics.

I can't wait till spring time... I think I'm gonna make some pet baits up in identical colors... The only difference being one essential series and the other crystal clear... What I am interested to see is durability difference between the two products... There are certain baits that I burn through and if I can get more fish per bait with one product, then that will be what I will be using.. Let the fish decide!!!!
