Barlow's powder paint
« on: 11/29/15 11:27 UTC »
I see on Barlow's site; under new items that they now have their own powder paint. Selling by the pound! 1 pound for $23.95. That figures out to about 1.50 per ounce. That's a good price, wonder who they get their powder from?

I'd say they buy it by the 50lb bag

Basic colors don't cost much.

Prismatic Powder is a good source.

wonder if they're getting it from Powder by the Pound or Rosy's?  Maybe they had some custom colors made.

The white, blue, black, red and brown are cheaper at Rosy's.  They have a couple of shades of blue for $3.25 a lb.  Here's a link to their $3.25 lb. special http://www.roseyspowdercoating.com/3-25special.html

There glass clear 200% gloss coat is only $12.00 lb.

Nice they're starting to carry their own powder but put out different quantities so people can test it first.

Just checked Prismatic.

Comparable colors are running $9-$13 a pound.

Rosey's gets some of their paint from Prismatic also.

Look at columbiacoatings.com in their green powders.  So many to choose or mix.  You can get smaller amounts to try, but you can get it by the pound at a great price and quick service.

I chose to mix a RAL 8000 color with some JD Green to get what I like.

Prismatic Army Green is pretty good.  Looks better in person than it does on the screen.
