Hey Lamar, have you ever tried using the little rubber hair ties instead of the o ring? I stole some from my wife when I was running low on o rings and was really impressed by my increased hook up ratio. Instead of the hook being in line with the bait you can twist the hair tie onto the bait and place the hook under the "X" the band makes and it has increased my hook up ratio. Bait still falls and acts the same in the water and they stand up to a lot of fish as well.
