Crappies up this way and further north are hot for that brown/grape or chameleon, whichever you prefer to call it. Walleyes and sauger like the brown/grape too and they also chew pretty well on the motor oil. I do both colors with chartreuse tails in the 4.5" Ring-Its and Thump Grubs in the 3.5" and 2.5". I have a 3" minnow bait that puts plenty of these guys on the dinner table too when done up in those two changables.

The Zombie Blood is Nothing like a junebug. It's a dull brownish purple and a very vibrant blue when you pass light through it. very neat colour.

gone2long - All of Bear's original colours were re-packaged Spike It colours, he would buy the raw pigments and mix them down and bottle them himself for resale until Spike It stopped selling plastic and colourants to resellers.

the zombie blood is similar to do its junebug,
yes when light is passed through it it you can see alot of blue in it
I will try to post pic of zombie blood and a do -its junebug  both with green flake in them

I didnt know LC had any color changing colors.

Y'all refer to a brown to grape. Is that like the chameleon I showed which is violet, or more of a grape?

Brown/grape and chameleon are all about the same. There may be some slight changes between providers but not much.

Here's a pic of the brown grape in some small swim shads with .15 red and blue flake. I think it gets a little more brown with more colorant but I went a little light on these. It's hard to capture the color change but this is a great walleye color for me.

Ide say at least the one I have is. Maybe with more it gets darker haven't tried yet. I got it from Jacob's and it has a LC-16 on the bottle that I assume means it's a lurecraft color rebottled.

I did some color plate photography for Rick a few years back and this is the brown/grape he sells. Its an M-F color and I think the LC prefix means liquid color. No positive but I think that.

This is 10 drops in 4 ounces of plastic. The lighting is artificial indoor. If this were done using natural sunlight in partial shade you'd see the browning effect taking hold. I haven't added any thing to this for the picture but as I have mentioned a very small amount of purple with some violet hi lites makes this one jump. In a 4 ounce batch the purple would be less than a drop....maybe 1/3 drop on a toothpick tip. And like Edgecrusher has alluded to, this is a strong colorant and can go over the edge pretty quick. I love it myself and its one of the best ice bait colors I make for people.

Spike it motor oil
I have found that motor oil will work in every fishing condition. Muddy or clear. It's about the only color I ever catch flounder on. Do not really target them but brings a big smile when I do get one. If I had to pick only one color to fish with it would be spike-it MO. Bass, Redfish, Trout does not matter they all love it.
